My self-image has improved immensely throughout the course of just this year. Ironically, the day this lesson was taught I washed a pen into a third of the clothes I wear. Having just got done spending an hour discussing the importance of addressing problems and moving forward, my only option was to learn from my mistake, and move on. I have not washed a pen since, and I tend to get through failures and obstacles much faster because of the way I view myself. Beating one's self up never solves the problem created. However, learning from mistakes leads to much improvement. Having a strong self-image has led me to understand that I am a bold person who confronts situations head on. I know that I will often fail, but I aim to never fail in the same way more than once.
